The Role

This position is based in the Netherlands (Rotterdam)

The Logistics Procurement Manager Warehouses & Terminals is responsible for developing the strategy for their categories, negotiating the agreements with suppliers, driving the relationships with suppliers to achieve a collaborative relationship that yields optimal benefits for Eastman Chemical's Business. The category in this case concerns warehouses and terminals - a logistics network to distribute Eastman materials to end-customers through imports from overseas manufacturing sites or locally produced materials. EMEA Logistics Procurement Managers are responsible for leading complex supplier relationships which will often include suppliers that cross regional boundaries. They ensure leading cost to serve within regional logistics and serve as key contributors to Logistics strategy and Network Optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement strategy for assigned categories. This in cludes understanding business needs, market analysis of the industry, short term and long-term view, Procurement Plans. Strategies can be global in nature and require extensive collaboration with colleagues and supplier contacts that are ex-USA.
• Eastman subject matter expert on the category, including understanding financial and operational performance of suppliers.
• Develops innovative options to achieve business needs.
• Negotiation of Contracts to support strategies.
• Develop a variety of options to meet current and future business needs.
• Develop & foster a relationship network within the suppliers.
• Acts as the custodian of cost to serve.
• In conjunction with Logistics Performance Specialist, drive SRMs for key suppliers.
• Communication with SC and other conduits to business as appropriate.
• Part of escalation chain for performance issues and crisis management.
• Collaborate with rate auditing on invoice issues.

Requirements & experience

We are looking for someone with the capacity for assimilating and comprehending data and trends to determine the "bigger picture". Furthermore you experienced how to successfully create support and feel energetic in a constantly changing environment.

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in procurement or logistics services for the chemical industry, ideally with experience in the procurement of terminals and warehouses.
• Experience with managing complex, multi-stakeholder transformational projects is an advantage.
