What you'll do

As (senior) Project Engineer you will be working on large district Heat and Industrial projects, such as E-boilers, Heatpumps, Heat storage & Flexible Power in several stages of development and realization. In these projects you are responsible for the overall engineering process, from concept selection to detailed design including construction and commissioning support. You are the technology holder within the projects and you make sure projects are developed fulfilling all requirements including safety and quality.. You manage both internal and external engineers and specialists to achieve this goal and guard all technical interfaces. You use company standards and align with the asset organization, clients and partners. You support in making the right decisions selecting technologies and suppliers for our projects and make sure that suppliers deliver what was agreed. In this way, you'll be making a contribution to a sustainable future.

Is this about you?

You the technical lead in the project team and work together with all team members to deliver the projects. In doing so, you are proactive in helping to accelerate the energy transition, while you make sure that quality and safety requirements are met. You are result driven and are able to represent Eneco with clients, suppliers and stakeholders. You have a technical focus, but understand the business challenges of an investor in renewable assets. In addition, you hold the following qualities:

• Master degree or equivalent level of education in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent discipline;
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a discipline or project engineer in complex engineering projects, for instance as process engineer or technical consultant in industry or power
• Experience with working in a project environment and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Knowledge of technologies such as district heating, heatpumps, E-boilers, heat storage, steam supply, boilers is an advantage.
• Self-starting and skilled in planning and organization
• Driven to improve quality and standards within Eneco
• Good social and communication skills both verbally and in writing English and Dutch;

You'll be responsible for

Within the projects we develop, you are a key player in the project team and responsible for the overall design and scope definition. For this you will work together with internal and external stakeholders and make sure the design meets all requirements.

As Project engineer Heat and Industry, you will:

• Define technical concepts and make technology selections
• Manage the engineering process from conceptual design towards detailed engineering, being responsible for coordinating all disciplines. For this you will work together and manage internal and external specialists and engineers.
• Deliver the Basis of Design and gathering all relevant design requirements
• Manage the delivery of all engineering documents required,
• Support in creating the cost estimates and technical inputs for the business case and permit applications
• Prepare specifications for assignments for technical consultants, engineering firms, contractors and suppliers and evaluate proposals.

This is where you'll work

You will be part of the business unit Asset Development and Realization. The business unit is active in developing and realization of renewable projects. Once the project is finished, it will be handed over to our asset organization. Eneco has a large project portfolio with an impressive track-record in these challenging and innovative industry.

At Eneco we work hybrid. You will have a flexible workspace at our modern, bright headquarters in Rotterdam. You can walk from Rotterdam Alexander station to your desk in just a few minutes. But you also sometimes work at project locations or at home.
